aLuman (originally Illuminate Financial), a Registered Investment Adviser, was founded in 2015 by Garth Shinn, CFP®, in Santa Barbara, California, and now resides in Portland Oregon, to realize the dream of creating health in family, friends, career, and community. In his 20+ year career in financial services, Garth has learned to listen and identify what is meaningful to clients, then provide insight in decision-making along with research, analysis, prioritization and implementation of a financial plan and investment strategy that is ideal for each client.
One of my dreams in creating aLuman is to be able to serve a select number of clients and families on a deep level, for a very long time. One of my strengths is to create an environment to allow people the space to think deeply about what is most important to them. There is a moment when someone is first able to bring clarity and language to their dreams ... almost as if a light has been turned on in a dark room. I love leading people through that process then seeing the peace and rest they experience!
